Renewable energy sources

The use of renewable energy sources is not associated with the possibility of a long-term deficit, since their supply is quickly renewed, and most of them are almost inexhaustible. These sources include wind, sunlight, rain, sea tides and waves, and geothermal energy. According to the US Energy Information Administration, in 2013, renewable energy accounted for 11% of the global energy consumption. The same indicator calculated using the REN21 methodology, which includes energy from wood and other biomass sources, was 19%. In Poland, energy from renewable sources covers approximately 4.2% of demand for energy. The main sources are biomass (2%), wind (1.4%), and hydropower (0.6%). Since the beginning of the twenty-first century, global investments in renewable energy has been growing exponentially, becoming one of the most fast-developing branches of the energy industry. The reasons behind that are twofold. Firstly, power generation from renewable sources has become much cheaper thanks to technological progress. Secondly, the industry receives government subsidies in many countries, including the European Union. The subsidies create additional incentives for technological advances in the RES sector. Considering the fact that renewable energy sources are practically inexhaustible, in the future they will constitute the backbone of the entire global energy system.

The management of the Company, in accordance with the company strategy, intends to analyze the market situation in order to identify projects that are optimal from the point of view of investors, and subsequently to invest the existing and newly raised capital in this industry.
